Known as the Catalan Merlin, Canonge was a famous magician in America and a good part of Europe, combining this profession with that of a shoe shine. In Barcelona there are two nineteenth century posters that commemorate him: one located in plaça Reial, where he worked as a shoe shine, with the other on carrer del Pas de l’Ensenyança, where he appears consecrated as a magician with a rabbit coming out of a top hat.

Party Walls: The Cats Party Wall, carrer d’en Xuclà, 5
Before being refurbished, the remains of what was an old adjoining building could clearly be seen on this party wall (stairs, remains of walls, the different colours of the walls ...). The work on this wall aims to evoke the memory of life here through a mural which shows the illustrations of cats that were there before. This refurbishment provides a new backdrop to the square that neighbours, significantly, have called "the Cats".

Shops: Ganiveteria Roca, Plaça del Pi 3
The basement of a building that has the oldest graffitos in Barcelona, Ganiveteria Roca knife shop set up there in 1916. What most stands out about the shop is the carpentry both in the store’s interior and exterior, which is of the so-called Viennese or Austrian Secessionist style, due to the fact the founder received his training in Solingen, Germany, and then Paris, hence the name of the shop "Solingen, Paris, Barcelona."
